Cambodia, Thailand vow to jointly tackle cross-border shipments to reach US$15B trade by 2025

Cambodia and Thailand are working together to address cross-border shipments to achieve a trade volume of US$ 15 billion by 2025. This is according to the press release on Cambodia and Thailand, further expanding the partnership for peace and prosperity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

During the meeting between the Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdech Hun Manet and the Prime Minister of Thailand HE Setha Thavisin, the two sides reaffirmed the importance of further increasing trade and investment.

The two sides agreed to instruct the relevant authorities to expedite the negotiation of a memorandum of understanding on transit goods between Cambodia and Thailand to resolve the remaining issues related to transit goods from third countries.

Finally, the two Prime Ministers agreed to entrust the relevant authorities to use the existing mechanisms effectively and explore additional potential opportunities to increase cross-border trade to achieve the US$ 15 billion trade target this year. 2025.
